News: City Ready to Bid for Arsenal Playmaker

Manchetser City are reportedly ready to place a £22 million bid for French midfielder Samir Nasri. Nasri, 24, is yet to sign a contract extension at the Emirates, and manager Arsene Wenger is starting to get used to the idea that he may have to cash in for Nasri now rather than possibly losing him for free next year.

Nasri moved to Arsenal in 2008 for a fee of around £12 million and has been a hit in England, having playing 85 games and scoring 18.

Manchester United have been massively linked with Nasri throughout the summer, and many players have said they would love the player to be part of the dressing room at Old Trafford. However, Manchester City are reported to have made Nasri their priority signing after signing Sergio Aguero.

City are looking to place a bid around the area of £22 million for Nasri, which will be higher than the rejected £20 million big from Manchester United.

However, Arsenal will still continue to try and hold onto Nasri, despite heavy links with United and City. If Nasri should request to leave the club, then Wenger will have to depart with one of his best players.
